第五單元第一課時主要用來處理Vocabulary I中的生詞。透過歷次考試可以看出，學生們在單詞的拼寫、認讀、意義辨析等方面都存在問題，因此，本課側重單詞的認讀和使用。

首先，聽錄音跟讀，聽、讀兩到三遍。（實際上，在學習外語單詞時，僅讀兩到三遍是絕對不夠的，不足以熟記單詞的讀音和意義。）然後鼓勵部分學生領讀，在領讀的過程中糾正學生的讀音錯誤，幫助其他同學避免類似的錯誤。

在跟讀單詞之後，給出符合讀音規則的拼讀方式及字母組合，幫助那些語音上沒有基礎的學生一點一滴地積累語音知識，從而培養一種根據拼寫形式就能準確讀出單詞的.能力。這部分利用黑板的板書，要求學生記筆記。

接下來利用例句來理解部分單詞的用法。利用PPT能夠儘可能多的呈現生詞的基本用法。給出某些詞在使用中的固定搭配，在課堂上口頭造一些結構簡單的句子，使學生在應用中找語感，注意到英語句子中的詞序。

最後強調記憶單詞的重要性，嚴格要求學生熟記拼讀規則，強化單詞的記憶，並佈置作業。
