Unit 1 How many people are there in your family?
■Warming up
Good orning, class. Do you see the picture on page 20? It is a picture of Tony’s family. How many people are there in this picture? How many children are there in this picture? There are eleven people in this picture. There are two children in this picture. Tony is the little boy in the picture. Who is the little girl next to Tony? She is Tony’s sister. Has Tony got any aunts or uncles? Has Tony got any grandmothers or grandfathers?
■Vocabulary and listening
1 Look at the picture. Label Tony's family.
We can see many people in the picture. They are Tony’s family. Now please look at the picture carefully and try to label Tony’s family. Who is Tony’s aunt? Who are Tony’s parents? Who are Tony’s grandparents?

2 Listen and check (√) in Activity 1 the people Tony mentions.
Now I will play the tape for you. Look at the picture and listen to the tape carefully. Pay attention to the people Tony mentions. Check (√) next to the people Tony mentions in the picture.
3 Listen and read.
Now let’s go on to page 21. Let’s read the dialogue first. In the dialogue you hear two people talking. While reading try to cut (斷句)/ the sentences into parts, blacken(塗黑) the predicates, shade(加影)the connectives and underline(劃線)the expressions.
Norite all the expressions in your Expression Book.
Noe read the dialogue. It’s time to listen to the tape. I will play it twice. For the first time listen and look at the dialogue. For the second time close your textbook and only listen to the tape carefully.
4 Complete the sentences.
From the dialogue we know about Tony’s family. Noe complete the sentences about Tony’s family. Do you know the answers?

Have you got any sisters or brothers? Have you got an aunt? Now look at the following example. Work in pairs and talk about your family. Use the sentences in the boxes on page 21.
