三. 詞組

1. at work 在上班、在工作

at 介詞，“正在……”，work，“工作”，這裏作名詞用時，是不可數名詞。

【例】It's hard work. 這是艱苦的工作。

2. any形容詞，一些，任何的

常用於否定和疑問句中，既可修飾可數名詞，也可修飾不可數名詞。

【例】There isn't any money in the purse. 錢包裏沒有錢。

Are there any maps on the wall? 牆上有些地圖嗎？

3. no形容詞，相當於 not any“一點也沒有”，可修飾可數名詞的單、複數形式，也可修飾不可數名詞。

【例】There is no cat here. 這兒沒有貓。

There are no cats here. 這兒一隻貓也沒有。

I have no money in the bag. 我書包裏沒有錢。

4. only 副詞，僅，只

【例】There is only one bird in the tree.

樹上只有一隻鳥.

Only she can do it. 只有她能做。

5. have a look at相當於 look at，“看一看”。

have +a/an +成爲賓語的名詞，表示一次性行爲。

【例】have a try 試一試，have a drink 喝一點

6. Young Pioneer 少先隊員，這個詞組的兩個詞的第一個字母都要大寫

7. Some women. 一些婦女

在表示名詞複數時，除把可數名詞變成複數之外，還可以加上some或any。在此要注意women的讀音。

8. 區分any，some.

在肯定句中要表示一些時，可用some。而在否定句中或者在疑問句中表示一些時要用any。

例如：Are there any birds in the tree?

Yes, there are some birds in the tree.

9. Come on

Come on祈使句，有“趕快，走吧，跟我來”等意思。在本課中 Come on，Kitty的意思是“過來，吉蒂”。

【例】Come on. We'll late for class.

快點，我們上課要遲到了。

Come on, baby. Don't cry.

來吧，孩子。別哭了。

10. “在河裏”是用 in the river還是on the river？

兩者均可。

如果指在河裏行船一般是用on the river，在河裏游泳通常用in the river。在新版教材中就出現了這樣一句話：

There is a boat on the river.

河裏有一條船。

但也可以說：There is a boat in the river.

四. 句型

1. What can you see in the sky?你能看到什麼在空中？

此句中what爲疑問詞，回答是“I can see…”，不用Yes或No來回答。如：

What can you see in the classroom? 在教室裏你能看見什麼？

I can see a teacher. 我能看見一位老師。

What can you see on the floor? 在地板上你能看見什麼？

I can see some balls. 我能看見一些球。

2. I can see some kites. 我能看見一些風箏。

3. There be句型

（1） 否定句式

【例】There + be + not（any）或no +主語+地點狀語

There isn't an egg in the box. 盒子裏沒有雞蛋.

There aren't any eggs in the box. 盒子裏一個雞蛋都沒有.

There aren't any students in the classroom. 教室裏沒有學生。

There isn't any student in the classroom. 教室裏一個學生也沒有。

There isn't any rice in the bag. 袋裏沒有米。(注：rice是不可數名詞)

There aren't any maps or pictures on the wall. 牆上沒有地圖，也沒有畫。

（2）一般疑問句式及簡略回答

Be + there +主語+地點狀語

【例】Is there a pen on the book?

Yes, there is. (No, there isn't. )

書上有一支鋼筆嗎？是的，有。（不，沒有。）

Are there any cups on the table?

Yes, there are. (No, there aren't. )

桌子上有些杯子嗎？是的，有。（不，沒有。）

【例】Is there a chair on the floor? 在地上有一把椅子嗎？

（3）注意一些介詞的用法，比如：

在河裏有一些小船。 There are some boats on the river.

在樹上有一隻鳥。 There is a bird in the tree.

In our class there are fifty-one students. 我們班有五十一名學生。

對有的東西提問的句式：What’s in the picture?

4. How many children are there?有多少孩子在這兒呢？

How many kites are there? 有多少風箏？

這是there be結構的特殊疑問句，how many是特殊疑問詞，意爲“多少”，後面接可數名詞的複數。there be要用疑問句語序，即be there。句式爲：How many＋名詞複數＋be there＋介詞短語＋？特殊疑問句不能用Yes或No來作答，對於how many提出的問題一般要作具體回答。例如：

How many children are there in the picture? 畫中有幾個孩子？

There are five. 有五個孩子。

How many balls are there under the bed? 牀底下有多少個球？

There aren't any. 一個也沒有。

There's only one. 只有一個球。
