大學英語作文 篇1

For most people, travel is a great thing. They will make a long plan before the trip starts. It is believed that shopping and delicious food are considered to be the necessary plans. While for some people, they don’t care about the things mentioned above. Different people have different ways to travel.

For most people who enjoy shopping and delicious food, the purpose of the trip is to buy local products and to eat local food. So they prepare a large amount of money, enjoying the feeling of shopping. In a lot of tourist cities, almost all the shops will write the commercial ads with mandarin, for attracting more Chinese customers.

For other tourists, they just enjoy the atmosphere and do nothing. They prefer to sit in the cafe shop and read the books for a whole afternoon. Once I did not understand such behavior, but now, as I have seen more and more scenery, I started to realize that it was another way to relax themselves.

We can’t judge which way is best for a trip, because the way to enjoy life is various.

我們無法判斷哪種方法最適合旅行,因爲每個人享受生活的方式是不一樣的。

大學英語作文 篇2

Why is it difficult for college students to find a job?

It is said more than one million Chinese college students graduated without jobs last year. The situation this year probably is worse than that in the last year, because there are more students who will graduate. Now the job markets everywhere all are very crowded, but only a few percentage of the students can find a job there. On the other hand, many students choose to take part in entrance test for graduated students. In fact graduate studying just is a buffer for employment. Graduate students also confront a problem of employment. What cause the employment difficulty of the college students on earth? I think there are at least four main reasons that we can't ignore.

First, the most direct reason is that the increase in the number of college students. In order to impulse the development of economy, our education has been industrialized by the government. In this case, the colleges and universities try their best to enlarge the number of students. Because the more students means the more profit. However, the speed of society development is slower than the speed of the increase of graduated students. The society can't provide enough job positions and that cause a large number of surplus students in the job market.

Second, the bad quality of our education causes that college students don't have enough competition ability in the society. Today, our higher education usually pays too much attention to the theory and basic knowledge and don't pay enough attention to the practical technique ability. We often can find a student who doesn't have a practical ability after 4 years studying in the college or university. Certainly it is difficult for such a student to find a job. On the other hand, with the increase of students drastically, almost in every college and university, the conditions of teaching, including the quantity and quality of teachers and the facility of teaching, aren't developed in a match speed so that that can't meet the requirement of the student. Under this situation, the quality of teaching must be very bad. As a result, many college students usually don’t have any competition in the job market.

Third, today's students always pursue their own material interest. They always want to have a good job in a good company or government department, in a good city and with a good salary. This also causes the drastic competition in the big cities' job market. However, in the vast countryside and small cities, there are many vacant positions that students don't want to accept. This is a social problem also is an educational problem. On the one hand, the whole social atmosphere that money and comfort have been the only pursue of everybody has affected the student largely. On the other hand, the education doesn't make an effective guide. Today, in every school, politics and philosophy courses always are the least important courses, except in the politics and philosophy department. Therefore most students don't have a lofty worldview. They just follow the mainstream of the society and they always think over their own interests in finding jobs. So students always feel they can't find a content job.

Finally, the social unfairness causes the bad situation in the job market. On the one hand, there are many surplus graduate students, but on the other hand, many companies and enterprises often refuse to accept new employees, even though they do need some employees. They usually think of their own interests and are afraid that the new employees can threaten their positions. In many monopoly industries and government departments, the phenomenon is rather grave. Many people there are not eligible but they occupy the positions and new employees can't replace them. As a result, many monopoly industries and government departments increasingly can't keep up with the step of society. That also causes a large waste and lost of excellent persons with ability.

To sum up, the educational industrialization and bad quality and the social unfairness cause the grave employment problem of college students. The government must take effective measures to solve the problem. I think now improving education quality and banning the education industrialization are the most urgent and important things. At the same time, the government and schools should enact new policies to encourage students to go to the undeveloped areas and to carve careers by themselves.

Advantages of Country Life

Just as more and more people are beginning to realize, there are many advantages in country life. Despite the fact that I have never lived in the country, I feel that life down there seems to be very pleasant and fulfilling.

One advantage to living in the country is that the schools are smaller, thus allowing the teachers to work closer with their students. Country teachers are able to know their students personally and learn of their needs and interests. Thus, students in country schools do not feel as if they were just part of a large mass of animals; instead, they feel as if someone really cares whether they are learning useful information or just acquiring a grade. The most important part of country life is the closeness one gains to nature. By just stepping out of a house and looking around, one can see trees, grass, animals, and everything nature has to offer us. Just to look up in the sky at night and to see the many thousands of stars glimmering in the dark, or to see lightning bugs swarming around tall, majestic trees gives one such a feeling of closeness to nature that one may never want to leave but stay there forever, watching and wondering in awe at the beauty of nature.

I know that I will always love the country, and someday I hope I have the opportunity to live there and enjoy all the advantages that it has to offer, everything that the city could never hope to provide.

大學英語作文 篇4

as our contemporary society develops dramatically, a worrying problem has sprung up that the degree of trust among individuals has decreased. for eample, when we meet a man begging for money due to his handicapped leg in the street, we are considering whether he is cheating us. plus, in the business circle, we consumers couldn’t easily believe what the merchant has guaranteed.

all these problems mentioned above are reduced to adverse consequences. especially, in the corporate world eists the prevalence of dishonesty. influenced by these phenomena, we, invariably, become increasing cautious about other’s guarantee, even a piece of word. thus, this trend does much harm to the commodity economy.

the underlying reason for these phenomena is the distorted mentality of money worship. there are an army of figures epect getting by with cheating customers by selling fake products. but, they would inevitably suffer penalty. so, honesty counts most. to sum up, we, average citizens, can eliminate the feeling of distrust via treating others honestly and paying confidence to others.

大學英語作文 篇5

i am speaking not as a briton, not as a european, not as a member of a western democracy, but as a human being, a member of the species man, whose continued eistence is in doubt. the world is full of conflicts: jews and arabs; indians and pakistanis; white men and negroes in africa; and, overshadowing all minor conflicts, the titanic struggle between communism and anticommunism.

almost everybody who is politically conscious has strong feelings about one or more of these issues; but i want you, if you can, to set aside such feelings for the moment and consider yourself only as a member of a biological species which has had a remarkable history and whose disappearance none of us can desire. i shall try to say no single word which should appeal to one group rather than to another. all, equally, are in peril, and, if the peril is understood, there is hope that they may collectively avert it. we have to learn to think in a new way. we have to learn to ask ourselves not what steps can be taken to give military victory to whatever group we prefer, for there no longer are such steps. the question we have to ask ourselves is: what steps can be taken to prevent a military contest of which the issue must be disastrous to all sides?

the general public, and even many men in positions of authority, have not realized what would be involved in a war with hydrogen bombs. the general public still thinks in terms of the obliteration of cities. it is understood that the new bombs are more powerful than the old and that, while one atomic bomb could obliterate hiroshima, one hydrogen bomb could obliterate the largest cities such as london, new york, and moscow. no doubt in a hydrogen-bomb war great cities would be obliterated. but this is one of the minor disasters that would have to be faced. if everybody in london, new york, and moscow were eterminated, the world might, in the course of a few centuries, recover from the blow. but we now know, especially since the bikini test, that hydrogen bombs can gradually spread destruction over a much wider area than had been supposed. it is stated on very good authority that a bomb can now be manufactured which will be 25,000 times as powerful as that which destroyed hiroshima. such a bomb, if eploded near the ground or under water, sends radioactive particles into the upper air. they sink gradually and reach the surface of the earth in the form of a deadly dust or rain. it was this dust which infected the japanese fishermen and their catch of fish although they were outside what american eperts believed to be the danger zone. no one knows how widely such lethal radioactive particles might be diffused, but the best authorities are unanimous in saying that a war with hydrogen bombs is quite likely to put an end to the human race. it is feared that if many hydrogen bombs are used there will be universal death - sudden only for a fortunate minority, but for the majority a slow torture of disease and disintegration...

here, then, is the problem which i present to you, stark and dreadful and inescapable: shall we put an end to the human race1 or shall mankind renounce war? people will not face this alternative because it is so difficult to abolish war. the abolition of war will demand distasteful limitations of national sovereignty. but what perhaps impedes understanding of the situation more than anything else is that the term mankind feels vague and abstract. people scarcely realize in imagination that the danger is to themselves and their children and their grandchildren, and not only to a dimly apprehended humanity and so they hope that perhaps war may be allowed to continue provided modern weapons are prohibited. i am afraid this hope is illusory. whatever agreements not to use hydrogen bombs had been reached in time of peace, they would no longer be considered binding in time of war, and both sides would set to work to manufacture hydrogen bombs as soon as war broke out, for if one side manufactured the bombs and the other did not, the side that manufactured them would inevitably be victorious...

as geological time is reckoned, man has so far eisted only for a very short period one million years at the most. what he has achieved, especially during the last 6,000 years, is something utterly new in the history of the cosmos, so far at least as we are acquainted with it. for countless ages the sun rose and set, the moon waed and waned, the stars shone in the night, but it was only with the coming of man that these things were understood. in the great world of astronomy and in the little world of the atom, man has unveiled secrets which might have been thought undiscoverable. in art and literature and religion, some men have shown a sublimity of feeling which makes the species worth preserving. is all this to end in trivial horror because so few are able to think of man rather than of this or that group of men? is our race so destitute of wisdom, so incapable of impartial love, so blind even to the simplest dictates of self-preservation, that the last proof of its silly cleverness is to be the etermination of all life on our planet? - for it will be not only men who will perish, but also the animals, whom no one can accuse of communism or anticommunism.

i cannot believe that this is to be the end. i would have men forget their quarrels for a moment and reflect that, if they will allow themselves to survive, there is every reason to epect the triumphs of the future to eceed immeasurably the triumphs of the past. there lies before us, if we choose, continual progress in happiness, knowledge, and wisdom. shall we, instead, choose death, because we cannot forget our quarrels? i appeal, as a human being to human beings: remember your humanity, and forget the rest. if you can do so, the way lies open to a new paradise; if you cannot, nothing lies before you but universal death.

大學英語作文 篇6

The Reasons for the difficulties in College Graduates' Job-hunting

Nowadays, with the increasing number of college graduates emerging in the society, a harsh reality was placed in front ofthem. This is the difficulties of job-hunting. Some of them even Have been in self-mockery that the moment they are graduated, they are unemployed. An excellent college student should have found a satisfactory job with a considerable income, but why are there still numerous students who who are out of work. People's view vary. And there three factors accounting for the phenomenon: the deficiency of educational system, the incompetence of the graduates, and the high standard of employer.

Perhaps one of the most common cause is the college students themselves. That is to say they are not competent. Although, they have pursued the further education, they haven't studied hard enough at all when they were on campuses. They are always wasting their precious time hanging out, playing computer, and sleeping in their warm bed, however, all these are meaningless to their future job. What's worse, skipping classes become their often cases, and, as a result, nothing have they learned when it's the time to compete in the recruitment fair. So, the jobless should introspect themselves why they can not reach the certain standard that the society need.

Besides the incompetence of the students, another contributing factor is the employers' high standard. The company often demand too much from the competitor. For instance, the bosses hire the experienced while they candidates have graduated from the college and never do they have time to practice and gain experience. Some vacancies even only serves for the postgraduate, but a college graduate is competent enough.

Last but not least, the Chinese education system may be ignored but, actually, it's one of the primary cause. The Chinese education have arranged what the college should pursue instead of giving them choices. Just as a survey indicates there are 45% of the graduates' present jobs are not related to their majors, and only 15% of their knowledge could be adopted to their job-hunting. Thus the most of them knowledge is of no use for the future work, and also the students are not interested at all but they are still forced to take the such courses. It's tragedy, isn't it?

Taking all the above into consideration, difficulties of job-hunting are not only the problem of the graduates, bur also the cause of the demanding boss and the deficiency of education system. All the them should spare no efforts to handle it.
