3.語法：掌握過去進行時的用法。

二、知識點、能力點提示

+過去分詞/形容詞構成系表結構，表示狀態的改變

eg:Don't get angry, Linda.

The little boy got lost in the great forest.

Many people got killed in the big fire.

t表示"可能""或許"，但並不一定表示"過去可能"，在語氣上沒有may 肯定。

eg:①Put on more clothes or you might catch a cold.

②John, you'd better stay here, your father might come.

③They might be waiting for us.

that case (=if that happens)如果那樣的話

It may rain tomorrow. In that case, I'll stay at home.

ing oil.現在分詞表示一個正在進行的主動動作，相當於一個定語從句修飾名詞

a burning house=a house which / that is burning 正在燃燒的房子

boiling water=water that / which is boiling正在沸騰的水

the rising sun=the sun that / which is rising正在升起的太陽

r指"樓層"，在表示房子"第幾層"時，美國的表示法與我國的相同，英國則有所不同

(1)n.逃跑，逃脫(不可數)；逃走的路，逃脫的方法(可數)

(2)vi.逃走，跑掉

He was planning to escape for some reason.

(3)vt 逃脫，逃避。後接名詞或動名詞作賓語

與其它詞的不同搭配。

(1)fire作主語與謂語動詞的搭配

The fire is out/put out/burning/spreading.(在蔓延)

(2)fire 作賓語與謂語動詞的搭配

Ⅱ Dear Mr Smith.
