正月十五吃元宵,在我國是由來已久習俗。人們在元宵節吃湯圓,實際上是思念親人、渴望團圓的意思。

Eating Tangyuan is an important tradition for the Lantern Festival. Tangyuan, also know as yuanxiao, is a Chinese food made from glutinous rice flour mixed with a small amount of water to form balls and is then cooked and served in boiling water.

吃湯圓是元宵節的一項重要習俗。湯圓,又名“元宵”,是由糯米粉等做的球形食品,一般有餡料,煮熟帶湯吃。

Traditionally, the balls come stuffed with sweet black sesame paste, although the fillings can vary. Tangyuan are eaten during Lantern Festival because of a homophone for union.

通常用黑芝麻做餡,但又不僅限於黑芝麻。據說元宵象徵閤家團圓美好,吃元宵意味着新的一年閤家幸福、團團圓圓,所以正月十五元宵必備。

The lion dance is one of the oldest traditions to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Dragon dance is a form of traditional dance and performance in Chinese culture. Like the lion dance it is most often seen in festival celebration. The dance is performed by a team of dancers who manipulate a long flexible figure of a dragon using poles positioned at regular intervals along the length of the dragon.

舞龍燈是中國獨具特色的民俗活動。與舞獅子一樣,每逢佳節,人們都要耍龍燈。表演者由數十人組成,每人用一杆間隔支撐起一條長龍。

Chinese dragons are a symbol of China, and they are believed to bring good luck to people, therefore the longer the dragon in the dance, the more luck it will bring to the community.

龍是中國的象徵,相傳龍能夠帶來吉祥和好運。耍的龍燈越長,就越能給當地人民帶來好運。因此,每逢春節、元宵節,人們都會舉行耍龍燈的活動。

Walking on stilts, or Cai Gaoqiao, is another popular traditional performance for the Lantern Festival, especially in Northern China. According to the archives, our Chinese ancestors began using stilts to help them gather fruits from trees. This practical use of stilts gradually developed into a kind of folk dance.

Lantern Festival is a China's traditional festival. It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar year.

I,antern Festival is one of the biggest holidays in China. Several days before Lantern Festival, people begin to make lanterns. Lanterns are made in the shape of different animals, vegetables, fruits and many, other things. While making lanterns people usually write riddles on lanterns. On the eve of Lantern Festival, all the lanterns are hung up.

On Lantern Festival people go outside to have a look at the lanterns and guess the riddles on the lanterns. Perhaps you call see some wonderful folk performances,Dragon Dance and Yangko. Everything is very interesting and everyone is very happy. Our life is rich and varied.

元宵節是中國的一個傳統節日。通常在陰曆年的第一個月的`第十五天慶祝。

元宵節是中國最大的節日之一。在元宵節到來的幾天前,人們就開始做燈籠,有的被做成動物,有的被做成蔬菜,有的被做成水果,各種樣式都有。做燈籠時,人們通常在上面寫上謎語。在元宵節前夜,所有的燈籠都被掛起來。

在元宵節這天,人們都出來看燈籠和猜燈謎,也許你還能看見一些精彩的民間表演龍舞和秧歌。每件事都很有趣,每個人都很高興,我們的生活豐富多彩。

The 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first lunar month is called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Festival in China.

According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere.

元宵節鬧花燈的習俗起源於道教的'“三元說”;正月十五日爲上元節,七月十五日爲中元節,十月十五日爲下元節。主管上、中、下三元的分別爲天、地、人三官,天官喜樂,故上元節要燃燈。元宵節的節期與節俗活動,是隨歷史的發展而延長、擴展的。就節期長短而言,漢代才一天,到唐代已爲三天,宋代則長達五天,明代更是自初八點燈,一直到正月十七的夜裏才落燈,整整十天。與春節相接,白晝爲市,熱鬧非凡,夜間燃燈,蔚爲壯觀。特別是那精巧、多彩的燈火,更使其成爲春節期間娛樂活動的高潮。至清代,又增加了舞龍、舞獅、跑旱船、踩高蹺、扭秧歌等“百戲”內容,只是節期縮短爲四到五天。
