一、教學內容:

Unit 1 of Module I Period One (Lesson 1 & 2)

二、 教學目標與要求:

1、在第一課和第二課裏,我們學習瞭如何談論我們的生活方式。話題的選擇貼近我們的生活,能引起同學們共鳴,激發同學們的學習動機。

2、複習一般現在時態和現在進行時態,以及它們的用法和區別。

3、進一步瞭解不同文化背景下,不同的個人生活方式,引導同學們樹立良好的學習和生活習慣。

4、學習策略:運用聽力策略對所聽內容進行預測。

5、掌握重點單詞、短語、句式,在練習中能靈活運用。

三、 本週重難點詞彙講解:

1、peaceful adj .和平的,平靜的

peace (n.和平)+-ful(形容詞後綴)

The peaceful uses of atomic energy will do good to human beings .

原子能的和平利用將造福人類。

It's peaceful at home when the children are at school .

孩子們在學校上學時,家裏就安靜了。

(1)反義詞:unpeaceful adj. 不平靜的,不和平的

派生詞:peacefully adv. 和平地,平靜地

(2)同義詞辨析:peaceful 與calm

這些形容詞表明沒有激動興奮或未被打擾。

calm 隱含遠離情感衝動之意;

peaceful 意指未被打破的鎮靜。

2、relaxing adj .輕鬆的,放鬆的'

relax(v. 放鬆)+-ing(形容詞後綴)

All the students going for holidays, it is really a relaxing evening for the headteacher.

所有的學生都度假去了,對於班主任來說這真是一個使人感到輕鬆的夜晚。

同根詞:relaxed意爲"感到輕鬆的"。

有些現在分詞和過去分詞可用作形容詞,現在分詞意爲"令人……的",其邏輯主語是物;過去分詞意爲"感到……的",其邏輯主語是人。類似用法的詞有:surprised /surprising; excited/exciting; frightened/frightening; moved/moving;

puzzled/puzzling

He got/became bored by her boring speech.

他被她那些令人厭煩的話搞煩了。

3、suppose的用法

1)suppose後接that引導的賓語從句,表示"認爲/猜想……"。如:

As she's not here ,I suppose she must have gone home.

她不在這兒,我猜想她已經回家了。

Scientists supposed that large dinosaurs lived in swamps.

科學家們認爲大型恐龍棲居於沼澤地中。

2)be supposed to 是個固定詞組,意思是"應該,有……的義務"。如:

I thought we were supposed to be paid today.

我以爲我們今天會領到薪水呢。

3)suppose/supposing可以引導條件狀語從句,相當於if 的作用。如:

Supposing(that) you are wrong,what will you do then?

假設你錯了,那你會怎麼辦?

4、prefer vt.更喜歡,寧願

派生詞:preferable adj .更可取的,更合意的;

preference n.喜愛,偏愛

-Which would you prefer,tea or coffee? 咖啡和茶你更喜歡哪個?

-I prefer tea to coffee.我更喜歡茶。

1)請注意prefer的搭配及用法:

(1)prefer(doing)sth.to (doing) sth.……相比,更喜歡……如:

I prefer coffee to milk.和牛奶相比,我更喜歡咖啡。

I prefer listening to music to watching TV.

和看電視相比,我更喜歡聽音樂。

(2)prefer to do sth. rather than(to) do sth.和做……相比,更喜歡做……如:

I prefer to listen to music rather than watch TV.

和看電視相比,我更喜歡聽音樂。

(3)prefer+that從句。如:

We prefer that the plan shall be fully discussed.

我們想讓這份計劃被充分地討論。

2)prefer sth.to sth.中的to是介詞;prefer to do sth. rather than do sth .中to 是動詞不定式的符號。

3)prefer to do…rather than do…=would rather do than do…/would do…rather than do…

5、switch on=turn on把開關開啟;接通

switch off=turn off關掉;關上

switch over (to)…轉換頻道;轉變

Then I get up, go downstairs and switch on the TV in the living room.

At weekends, he often switches on the computer early in the morning and doesn't switch it off until midnight.

週末,他一早就把計算機開啟,直到半夜才關。

If there is not a good play on CCTV8, I would switch over to CCTV7.

如果中央八臺沒有好節目,我就換到七頻道。

6、do some exercise =do some sports =take some exercise 鍛鍊身體

(exercise作不可數名詞用時,意爲"鍛鍊運動",作可數名詞用時,意爲"練習、訓練"。)

do morning /eye exercises做早操/做眼保健操

He is so fat that everyone advised him to take more exercise.

他太胖了,所以,大家都勸他多鍛鍊身體。

Students have too many exercises to do after class.

學生課後要做的練習太多。

7、go off

1)爆炸;(爆竹、鈴等)響

The gun went off with a bang. 槍砰的一聲響了。

2)(食物等)變壞

This steak has gone off.這牛排壞了。

3)消失

The pain went off. 疼痛消失了。

4)進行情況;發生

The interview went off very badly. 訪問進行得極不順利。

5)睡着;失去知覺

Has the baby gone off yet? 嬰兒睡着了嗎?

8、take up

1)to use up, consume, or occupy: 用盡,耗掉或佔用(時間/空間):

The extra duties took up most of my time.

額外工作耗費了我絕大部分時間。

2)to develop an interest in or devotion to: 喜歡,鍾愛,對……產生了興趣或鍾愛:

Now he takes up mountain climbing.

現在他喜歡上登山運動。

3)to enter into (a profession or business): 開始從事(一項職業或行當):

He took up art while at school.

他在學校時開始對藝術感興趣。

4)to begin again; resume: 再次開始;重新開始:

Let's take up where we left off.

take down 拿起;拆除(構造物);記下

take off (飛機等)起飛;脫下(衣帽等);(觀念,產品等)突然大受歡迎

take on 呈現(不用於被動語態)

9、be filled with… 裝着……;裝滿…… fill… with… 把……裝進……

be full of… 裝滿……

Every minute of the day is filled with urgent matters.

每分鐘都有很多急待處理的事情要做。

The bottle is filled with oil.

那瓶子裏裝滿了油。/那瓶子裏裝着油。

The bottle is full of oil. 那瓶子裏裝滿了油。

Don't fill the bottle with oil. 別把油裝進瓶子裏。

10、complain (to sb.) about/of sth. 向……抱怨……

1)vi. 抱怨;埋怨;

Almost immediately she began to complain to me about his impoliteness.

她幾乎馬上就對我開始抱怨起他的無禮來了。

2)訴苦;叫屈;說自己有病(of)

The boy complained of a pain in his stomach.

這孩子說他肚子痛。

3)vt. 抱怨, 控訴[常與that從句連用]

They complained that the wages were too low.他們抱怨工資過低。

They complained that the price of books had increased.

他們抱怨說書的價格提高了。

4)n. 抱怨;埋怨;不滿

We have a number of complains about their service.

對他們的服務我們有些怨言。
