of和about的用法與區別

用法不同：

about：

在指“不久就要……”時，後通常接不定式，如about to start。也有接動名詞，如about starting。但是不可再加表示時間的詞，如不可說about starting at once；

指“大約”的意思時，表達方式有about ten，about half等。注意ten和half都是明確的數量，about不該用在“多少不定”的詞前，如about more than ten，about less than half；

與at搭配使用時，about是副詞，沒有at時，about 是介詞。句中可有at，也可沒有，意思相同。

Tell me all about it.

告訴我關於這件事的`一切。

It is about six o'clock now.

現在是六點鐘左右。

of：

直接源自古英語的of；最初源自原始日耳曼語的af，意爲離開，分開。

I have heard of him.

我聽說過他。

This is a photograph of my dog.

這是一張我的狗的照片。
