determine的用法

用法：

1、determine的基本意思是確定事物的界限或範圍,指經調查或認真思考後明確地判斷事物的真僞、是非,或確定問題所涉及的範圍、性質、內容等,即“作出決定”或“使…決定”。凡是被決定的`事而絕無疑問者大都用determine來表示。determine還含有決定後加以堅持的含義。常用於法律或科技方面等。引申可作“限定; 制定”解。

2、determine還可表示對某事物產生決定性的“影響”或“決定”。

3、determine可用作不及物動詞,也可用作及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,可接名詞、代詞、動詞不定式(而不是動名詞)或表示命令、請求的從句作賓語,還可接以“to be+ n. ”或動詞不定式充當補足語的複合賓語。

He has not yet fully determined.

他還沒有完全下定決心。

The lease determines next month.

租約下個月到期。

4、用作及物動詞

Who determines the overall production plan?

Shall we determine a date for the meeting?

5、用作賓補動詞

（1）S+～+ n./pron. +to be n.

I determine him to be a fool.

我推測他是一個傻子。

（2）S+～+ n./pron. +to- v

Her encouragement determined me to carry on with the work.

她的鼓勵使我決心把這項工作繼續下去。

His advice determined me to drink and smoke no more.
