『相似詞語辨析across和cross』

across，cross

這兩個詞都是表示橫越、渡過之意，在拼寫上僅差一字之微，故很易混淆。它們的區別在於詞性和使用場合有所不同。

across是介詞；cross是動詞。

cross-reference是前後參照、互見條目的意思，專指同一書刊中前後互相參閱的說明。例：

crossing是渡口、橫道線或（鐵路與公路的）交叉點。如：

The Star Ferry Pier is a ferry crossing in central．

天星碼頭是在中環的一個渡口。

A bus ran into a train at the level／grade crossing．
