describe,honest,argue,survive,hate,be fond of,in order to,treat…as…,care…about

I’m not into classical music.

Chuck is on a flight across the Pacific Ocean when suddenly his plane crashes.

1. I hate hiking and I’m not into classical music.

(1)hate vt. / sb.;hate doing / to do sth.;hate sb. doing / to do sth.。例如:

She hates cates.

I hate asking / to ask any favors of her.

He hates women smoking / to smoke.

(2)be into sth.

He is into rock music.

2. be fond of…

She is fond of cats.

3. One day Chuck is on a flight across the pacific Ocean when suddenly his plane crashes.

多用於句型:be doing…when…,be about to do …when…,句中is on a flight等於is flying。例如:

He is about to go when the telephone rang。

I was walking on the street yesterday when I saw an old friend。

4. I sing all the time.

句中短語all the time意爲:continuously一直;始終。例如:

I was with him nearly all the time.

I shall be thinking about you all the time.

5. On the island, Chuck has to learn to survive all along.

survive一詞意爲continue to live or exist倖存;活下來。例如:

Few buildings survived the fire.

6. He talks to Wilson and treats it as a friend.

The grandma treated the PLA man as her own son.

We treat the children as our best friends.

7. If you are interested in being friends, drop me a line.

短語drop someone a note / a line意爲:write a short letter to someone給某人寫封信。例如:

If you have time, please drop me a line.

Drop me a line when you are next in town.

8. In order to survive, Chuck develops a friendship with an unusual friend - a volleyball he calls Wilson.

in order to do…

9. Chuck learns that we need friends to share happiness and sorrow, and that it is important to have someone to care about.

(1)and that…

(2)care about…

He dose not care about clothes.

My father does not care about what I do.

eg.

Lao Yang said: “I’m not free.

Lao Yang said that he wasn’t free .(間接引語)

(whether…or…

“You’ve already got well , haven’t you ?” she asked.

She asked whether(if)he had already got well .
