復活彩蛋

蛋象徵新生命。堅硬的蛋殼無法限制裏面正在孕育的新生命。耶穌基督爲了我們的罪而釘死在十字架上，葬在墳墓裏，但墳墓無法關住他。他第三天覆活了，使凡相信他的人，因此而得到新的生命。蛋，便成爲復活節常用的象徵物之一。蛋乃意味着春天的到來及新生命的誕生，並象徵着耶穌從死裏復活走出石墓。

復活兔(邦尼兔)

依據歐洲古老的傳說，野兔是一種終日不閉眼的動物。它們能在黑夜裏，觀看四周其它的動物，因此，野兔就代表着黑夜中一輪皎潔的明月。再加上覆活節日子的計算是以春天月圓爲基準於是就將春天繁殖力強的野兔視爲復活節的一個象徵。這習俗傳入美國後，美國人還爲兔子取了一個可愛的名字，叫它復活節的邦尼兔!

聖誕節一過，復活節巧克力蛋便在糖果店裏擺出來了。那些最小和花樣最簡單的很便宜，孩子們用自己的零花錢就可以買下來。這段時期上市的彩蛋有兩種。小的一種叫方旦糖，長一英寸多一點，外面是一層薄薄的巧克力，裏面是又甜又軟的麪糰，然後再用彩色的錫箔紙包裝成各種形狀。另外一種是空蛋，稍微大一點，一般比鴨蛋還大一點。裏面什麼也沒有，只是包着一個巧克力外殼。只需打碎外殼，吃巧克力片。 復活節臨近時，糖果店的櫥窗裏會擺滿比這些更精美的彩蛋。同時還有各種各樣的用來吸引孩子們的小禮物出售。上面裝飾有毛絨絨的羊毛做的小雞，小雞的嘴和腳都粘在卡片上。幸運的孩子可能從親友那兒得到好幾種這樣的禮物。
