1、act as 擔任，充當，起……的作用。如：

A trained dog can act as a guide to a blind person. 經過訓練的'狗可以擔任盲人的嚮導。

表示擔任獨一無二的職務，其前通常不用冠詞。如：

He acted as manager in my absence. 我不在時他擔任經理。

2、act for 代理，代爲。如：
